WHAT IS SPECIALIST DISABILITY ACCOMMODATION (SDA)?
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a type of housing funded by the NDIS for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
SDA homes are specially designed to make everyday living easier and safer. These homes may include features such as wheelchair accessibility, wider doorways, reinforced walls, assistive technology, and layouts that allow support workers to assist participants effectively.
SDA Design Categories
Homes for people who need a high level of physical support in daily life. They include features such as ceiling hoist provision, emergency power for essential equipment, home automation, and space for support workers to assist day and night.
